Psalm 66
“Bless our God, you peoples, and sound His praise abroad, who keeps us in life, and does not allow our feet to slip.” Psalm 66:8-9, (NASV) Fill my children with joyful shouts to Your Name and songs of Your glory. Make real to them Your awesome deeds and great power. Oh Lord, may they bow down and sing praises to You. I pray You will open their eyes to witness Your awesome wonders and the mighty works of Your hands. Let them rejoice in Your power and loudly proclaim Your praises. As You test them, refine them like silver and preserve them with feet which do not slip. Oh Lord, free them from the nets, lift off the burdens, and bring them through the fire into a place of Your great abundance. When You have delivered them, may my children not forget to fulfill the vows which they uttered in their times of need. But let them bring sacrifices of praise and tell of all You have done. Purge them of sin, I plead, and do not reject them. Withhold not Your love but listen to their cries. Hear the prayers of my children, oh God. On Sunday, August 4th, Joan C. Benson and I were honored to learn that we took second place for the Children’s Fiction Book of the Year for one of our books, Let’s Be One: God’s Human Race (Elk Lake), illustrated by Holly Pallet. This book is part of our Cornerstone Concepts for Kids series.
“Who establishes the mountains by His strength, who is encircled with might; who stills the roaring of the seas, the roaring of their waves, and the turmoil of the nations. They who dwell at the ends of the earth stand in awe of Your signs; You make the sunrise and the sunset shout for joy.” Psalm 65:6-8, (NASV) God of salvation, Fill my children with daily praises to You. Hear their prayers, I plead, and draw them near while You forgive them of sin. I pray my children will find favor in Your sight and will be filled with Your blessings. Answer their prayers with Your mighty righteous deeds. For You are the Hope of the whole earth and Lord of the farthest seas. I pray You will still their inner turmoil and all which threatens to befall them. Call forth from them songs of joy as they hear and see Your wonders. Oh Lord, please tend and care for my children. Water them with Your Spirit and enrich the soil of their souls. May You crown them with Your bountiful blessings. In the same manner, clothe my children with gladness and fill them with shouts of joy. ![]() “The righteous person will be glad in the Lord and take refuge in Him; and all the upright in heart will boast.” Psalm 64:10, (NASV)
Hear my children, oh God. Protect them from their enemies while You hide them from snares and conspiring tongues. Strike down the wicked and turn their tongues against them, bringing them to ruin. May my children fear and proclaim Your works while they stand in Your awe and wonder. Let them rejoice and take refuge in You, praising Your Name forever |
