“I will raise my eyes to the mountains; from where will my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.” Psalm 121:1-2, (NASV)
Oh Maker of heaven and earth, lift up my children’s eyes to the hills for You will be their help. Do not let their feet slip but Watch over my children, neither slumbering nor sleeping. ON their right hand, hide my children from the scorching sun and moonlight beneath Your shadow. Protect them from all evil, I plead, and preserve their souls. Keep my children from all harm and guard their comings-and-going’s now and forever.

“I cried to the Lord in my trouble, and He answered me.” Psalm 120:1, (NASV)
Lord, when my children call out to You in distress, answer and save them from lies and deceit. Punish their enemies with warriors’ sharp arrows and burning coals. Oh Lord, may my children be a peaceable people but when they speak for battle, let it be for war. Verses 153-176
“Those who love Your law have great peace, and nothing causes them to stumble.” Psalm 119:165, (NASV) Oh God, look down upon my children’s suffering. Deliver them for they have not forgotten Your law. May You defend and redeem them, as You preserve their lives according to Your promises. Show compassion, oh God, and save them from their any enemies. Yet even when they persecute them, do not let them turn from Your statues. Lord, I plead they would love Your precepts for all Your words are true and all Your righteous laws are eternal. In the face of persecution, let my children’s hearts tremble at Your word while they rejoice in Your promises. Make them a lover of Your law and an abhorred falsehood. Let praises fill their mouths for Your righteous decrees while You grant them great peace and keep their footing firm. Oh god, grant them the wisdom to wait upon Your salvation and to follow Your commands. In turn, may their love for You yield obedient hearts which delights in following You, the One who knows them. Oh Lord, hear my children’s cry. Grant them understanding of Your Word for You have promised to deliver them. Listen to their supplications, I plead. May their lips overflow with praises and their tongue sing of Your Word for Your righteous law. In the same way, ready Your hand to reach down and help them for they long for Your salvation and delight in Your law. Oh, may they choose to follow You so they may live to praise You. When my children stray, seek after them and do not let them forget Your commandments. Verses 137-152
“You are near, Lord, and all Your commandments are truth.” Psalm 119:151, (NASV) Help my children learn to trust Your righteous law and make them lovers of Your promises. May they remember how Your righteousness is everlasting and Your law is true. When trouble comes upon them, let your commandments be their delight. May they understand how Your statues are forever so they may live. When my children call, answer them so they may obey Your decrees. Save them, oh God, and help them to keep Your commandments. When they rise with the dawn to cry for help, let them place their hope in Your Word. May they seek You earnestly even through the watches of the night so they may meditate upon Your promises. Hear their voices and preserve them, oh God, while You draw near to comfort them with Your truth. Oh Lord, how I plead they will hold tight to Your statues for You have established them to last forever. |
