Wow! What a day! I was incredibly blessed today to be in a recording studio. Some of you may already know, but God opened the door for me to begin recording a music album which uses music to teach children Scripture. It has been a fun and wild adventure. It humbles me to see how God would allow this everyday mom to reach little souls for Christ. Teaching Scripture to our children, even as early as infancy, plays a vital role in teaching our kids wisdom and equipping them for every good work. From bleating sheep to the “cha-cha” to interactive choruses and kids’ voices, Sing-Along with Mr. Caleb puts Scripture verses to music that children and parents alike will love. Let Scripture come alive through music and song! ... A sneak-peek behind the album
Sing-Along with Mr. Caleb was birthed from 2 Timothy 3:15-17. “... and how from infancy you have known the holy scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus. All scripture is God breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting, and training in righteousness so that the man of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work." (II Timothy 3:15-17, NIV) When I first stumbled over this verse, it brought me to my knees. The words “from infancy, you have known the holy Scriptures” spoke to my heart. Paul was speaking to Timothy. At a very early age, Timothy had been taught Scripture. An epiphany rolled over me. I suddenly realized that it was never too early to begin teaching our children the Word of God. Moreover, teaching Scripture to our children will help make them wise for salvation through faith in Jesus Christ while equipping them for every good work. In that moment, I made a vow to begin hiding God’s Word in my daughter’s heart. So, join me in teaching your kids Scripture. Let us not waste another moment and let’s get started. Memorizing Bible verses helps equip our children to make wise decisions. It also helps them stand strong in their faith while it aids parents in the training up of their kids. Why not make learning the Bible fun by putting it to music? Start using one of God’s greatest tools for parenting and in the molding of young hearts for Jesus. Like many of you, I desire to fill my kid’s mind and heart with Scripture while making it fun for parents and children alike. Learning Scripture can be an enjoyable, shared time of bonding between you and your little one, especially when Bible verses are set to song! With the aid of simple melodies, we can begin to make God’s Word an interactive daily experience with our kids and fill their hearts with life-giving truth. You may feel daunted and discouraged as I initially did at the thought of helping my child learn Scripture. Perhaps you were like me. I had thought that if I, personally, had struggled memorizing scripture, I would likewise struggle teaching my child. Yet I found that setting Bible verses to music not only made memorizing Scripture easy but also fun and exciting. Even more encouraging is how the power of music has aided in sustaining long-term memory of each verse. It tucks the Word of God away securely in my heart and in my child’s heart as well. Begin guarding your kid’s heart, soul, and mind with God’s Word. Start using Scripture to train up your child in the way that he or she should go.
