“Blessed be the Lord, my Rock, who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle; my faithfulness and my fortress, my stronghold and my Savior, my shield and He whom I take refuge.” Psalm 144:1-2, (NASV)
Oh God and my Rock, may my children praise You. Train their hands for war and their fingers for battle so they may stand strong against the enemy. Oh Lord, let them take refuge in Your lovingkindness as their Fortress, Stronghold, Deliverer, and Shield. Though their life is a fleeting breath, care for them and remember them, I plead. Part the heavens, oh God, and come down to make the mountains smoke. May You scatter their enemies with lightening, wounding them with Your arrows. In the same way, rescue my children from the rushing waters and the hands of the wicked while they sing and make music to You. Give victory, I pray, and deliver my children from the sword. From their youth, let my sons grow like vibrant plants and my daughters like strong pillars adorned in beauty. May You fill their houses with every provision, multiplying their harvests by thousands. Firmly establish my children, oh God, as You make impenetrable their walls and protect them from captivity. Yet fill their mouths with songs of joy rather than distress. Bless them, I plead, and be their God.
