Married to my best friend for almost 20 years, my husband and I are the proud (and often exhausted!) parents of a vivacious preschooler. As a vision-impaired mom, prayer and trust in the Lord play a vital and moment-to-moment role in my life.

A native of nowhere, Marjorie L. Wingert penned her first memoir in the back of a moving eight-passenger van at the age of 10. Having settled in central Pennsylvania, where she was diagnosed with a progressive, degenerative eye condition during her teen years, Marjorie eventually abandoned long-held dreams of writing for musical, artistic and academic endeavors.
She later combined her passion for people and performance by earning a bachelor of arts degree in music and psychology from Eastern University, yet subsequently found herself employed in the financial and investment sector for more than a decade. Marjorie's failing eyesight ultimately forced her departure from the financial industry to explore new pathways and possibilities.
Marjorie's spirit of faith and determination prevailed as she pursued a master's degree in community counseling and went on to assist others through some of the toughest trials of their own lives. But her further-deteriorating eyesight led her to a transitional season. Her desire to write re-emerged, stronger and more purposeful than it had ever been.
By then a vision-impaired mom, Marjorie's love of sharing laughter with her preschooler led her to write for children while her reawakening of old dreams launched her foray into broader-scope nonfiction writing.
As an aspiring book author, Marjorie hopes to share a new vision for children's literature while inspiring others to fulfill their dreams as she steadily works toward her publication goals.
