Lift my children’s eyes up to You in the heavens, oh Lord. May they look to You for mercy. Be merciful to my children, oh Lord, be merciful!

“…I will now say, ‘May peace be within you.’ For the sake of the house of the Lord our God, I will seek Your good.” Psalm 122:8-9, (NASV)
Fill my children’s hearts with rejoicing to go to Your house. Stand their feet within Your gates, oh Jerusalem. Let them join with the people of God to go up to praise You in Your throne room. Unite them with prayers of peace to reside within Your walls and safety to dwell within Your citadels. Make my children seekers of You, I plead, so they may be blessed with peace and prosperity for Your Name’s sake. “I will raise my eyes to the mountains; from where will my help come? My help comes from the Lord, who made heaven and earth.” Psalm 121:1-2, (NASV)
Oh Maker of heaven and earth, lift up my children’s eyes to the hills for You will be their help. Do not let their feet slip but Watch over my children, neither slumbering nor sleeping. ON their right hand, hide my children from the scorching sun and moonlight beneath Your shadow. Protect them from all evil, I plead, and preserve their souls. Keep my children from all harm and guard their comings-and-going’s now and forever. “I cried to the Lord in my trouble, and He answered me.” Psalm 120:1, (NASV)
Lord, when my children call out to You in distress, answer and save them from lies and deceit. Punish their enemies with warriors’ sharp arrows and burning coals. Oh Lord, may my children be a peaceable people but when they speak for battle, let it be for war. Verses 153-176
“Those who love Your law have great peace, and nothing causes them to stumble.” Psalm 119:165, (NASV) Oh God, look down upon my children’s suffering. Deliver them for they have not forgotten Your law. May You defend and redeem them, as You preserve their lives according to Your promises. Show compassion, oh God, and save them from their any enemies. Yet even when they persecute them, do not let them turn from Your statues. Lord, I plead they would love Your precepts for all Your words are true and all Your righteous laws are eternal. In the face of persecution, let my children’s hearts tremble at Your word while they rejoice in Your promises. Make them a lover of Your law and an abhorred falsehood. Let praises fill their mouths for Your righteous decrees while You grant them great peace and keep their footing firm. Oh god, grant them the wisdom to wait upon Your salvation and to follow Your commands. In turn, may their love for You yield obedient hearts which delights in following You, the One who knows them. Oh Lord, hear my children’s cry. Grant them understanding of Your Word for You have promised to deliver them. Listen to their supplications, I plead. May their lips overflow with praises and their tongue sing of Your Word for Your righteous law. In the same way, ready Your hand to reach down and help them for they long for Your salvation and delight in Your law. Oh, may they choose to follow You so they may live to praise You. When my children stray, seek after them and do not let them forget Your commandments. Verses 137-152
“You are near, Lord, and all Your commandments are truth.” Psalm 119:151, (NASV) Help my children learn to trust Your righteous law and make them lovers of Your promises. May they remember how Your righteousness is everlasting and Your law is true. When trouble comes upon them, let your commandments be their delight. May they understand how Your statues are forever so they may live. When my children call, answer them so they may obey Your decrees. Save them, oh God, and help them to keep Your commandments. When they rise with the dawn to cry for help, let them place their hope in Your Word. May they seek You earnestly even through the watches of the night so they may meditate upon Your promises. Hear their voices and preserve them, oh God, while You draw near to comfort them with Your truth. Oh Lord, how I plead they will hold tight to Your statues for You have established them to last forever. Verses 105-136
“The unfolding of Your words gives light; it gives understanding to the simple.” Psalm 119:130, (NASV) May Your Word be a Lamp unto my children’s feet and a Light unto their paths so they may follow Your righteous laws. Preserve their lives oh Lord, for they have endured sufferings. I pray their lips will offer You heartfelt praises which are acceptable unto You. Teach them Your law, oh God, and do not let them forget Your truths, straying not from Your precepts. Father God, let Your statues be the joy of their hearts and their heritage as they keep Your decrees. Make them a lover of Your law, oh God, and be my children’s refuge and shield. How I pray they will place their hope in Your Word so You may sustain them according to Your promises. Lord, help them keep Your commandments while You uphold them and keep their hopes from being dashed. With fear and trembling, may they stand before You. Do not leave my children to their oppressors, oh God, but ensure their safety. Help them to do what is right and just, for their eyes fail as they look for Your righteous promise and salvation. Oh Lord, teach them Your decrees so they may be blessed with discernment to understand Your statues. Father God, act now for their enemies break and disregard Your law. But, let my children love Your decrees more than gold so that they despise what is evil. May my children love Your laws for they are wonderful, giving life and understanding to the simple. After Your commands, let them hunger and long with love and obedience. Oh Lord, I pray You will direct their footsteps according to Your Word so no sin possesses a foothold. Redeem them, I plead. Let them obey and follow Your precepts, being taught Your Word. Shine Your face upon my children, oh God, and shower my children with every good blessing. Verses 81-104
“How I love Your law! It is my meditation all the day.” Psalm 119:97, (NASV) Oh Lord, make my children’s hearts faint with longing after Your salvation. Help them place their hope in Your Word. When their eyes fail and they are left wondering, comfort them. Do not wait long to punish their enemies for snares are set to trap and persecute my children. Do not let them forsake Your precepts but show them Your trustworthiness and help them when they are in need. OH God, preserve their lives according to Your love while they obey the statues of Your mouth. Oh God, help my children’s faith stand firm just as Your Word stands firm in the heavens. Likewise, I pray Your faithfulness continues with them from generation to generation just as Your laws endure forever. Oh Lord, make Your laws their delight so they do not perish but are preserved by Your precepts. May they seek and ponder Your statues, loving Your law and meditating upon it all day long. Oh Lord, help them to glean wisdom, insight, and understanding from Your commandments as they meditate, obey, and store Your statues in their hearts. Keep their feet from paths of evil and let them stay true to Your laws, finding your Words sweeter than honey. Teach them, oh God, so they may gain understanding from Your precepts and despise the way of the wicked. Verses 57-80
“Teach me good discernment and knowledge, for I believe in Your commandments.” Psalm 119:66, (NASV) Oh Lord, be my children’s portion. Let them seek You with all their hearts with vows to keep Your laws. Be gracious to them and cause them to turn their steps to Your statues. Grant them a ready heart of obedience so that they will hasten and not delay following You. In times of persecution, comfort them with the promise of Your Word. Oh Lord, fill their hearts with thanksgiving for Your righteous laws and great love which fills the earth. Lord, I plead with You to be good to my children. Teach them knowledge and good judgement, I pray. Let them believe in Your precepts and calling so they do not wander astray. In the same way, teach them Your decrees so they may learn of Your goodness for You are good. When evildoers smear them with lies, let them hold tight to Your promises so through their affliction they truly learn Your decrees. Make Your law more precious to them then gold or silver, oh God. You, oh God, who have formed my children, give understanding to them so they may learn Your commands and place their hope in Your word. When they are afflicted, help them remember the comfort of Your unfailing love and how Your laws are righteous. Be compassionate to my children, oh God, while You put their enemies to shame. Make Your laws a delight to them and help them meditate upon them. Give them a blameless heart, oh God, and surround them with friends who follow Your statues. Verses 33-56
“Give me understanding, so that I may comply with Your law and keep it with all my heart.” Psalm 119:34, (NASV) Help my children walk according to Your commands, oh Lord. Let them know the true freedom Your laws bring. Yet teach them well how to follow Your decrees so they might keep them. Help them to understand and be guided in the goodness and wisdom of Your ways so their hearts may delight in Your statues. I pray You will turn them away from worthless things and selfish gain so they may be preserved to live out Your glory. Fulfill Your promises, oh God, and take away their disgrace. Make them long for Your precepts for Your laws are good. Shower Your unfailing love upon my children, o God. Help them trust in Your Word and put their hope in Your laws. Let Your truth ring out from their lips while they seek to obey You always. Bless them with the freedom which comes through kipping Your precepts as You foster within them a love of Your commands. In love to You, may they lift up their hands for the joy of Your law and meditate daily upon Your decrees. May the remembrances of Your Word give my children hope for your promises preserve life. When the arrogant mock them, let them not turn from Your law but instead find comfort in Your decrees as their songs. In the dark of night, let my children remember You, oh God. Instill it upon my children’s hearts to obey and follow Your precepts. |
