“The Lord is gracious and compassionate; slow to anger and great in mercy.” Psalm 145:8, (NASV)
Oh Lord, let my children exalt and praise Your Name forever. May they daily praise You for You are great and worthy of praise. Let them tell of Your marvelous works, oh God, speaking of Your glorious majesty, meditating on Your words, and proclaiming Your great deeds. Oh God, I pray You will shower them with Your abundant goodness so they may celebrate Your righteousness with joy. Pour out Your grace, compassion, and rich love but be slow to anger. Lord, I pray they will extol You and praise You, telling of Your glorious Kingdom and speaking of Your wonderful might. Be faithful to them, I plead, for You fulfill Your promises and love to all whom You have created. When they fall, uphold them. When they are bowed low, lift them up. Yet let their eyes look to You with trust in Your timely provision. Lord, open Your hand so You might satisfy their desires for You are righteous in all Your ways and love all whom You have made. When they call, draw near to them, and fulfill them. Hear their pleas and save them, I pray. In the same way, watch over them, oh God, as You destroy the wicked. Fill my children’s mouths with praise to Your Holy Name forever.

“Blessed be the Lord, my Rock, who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle; my faithfulness and my fortress, my stronghold and my Savior, my shield and He whom I take refuge.” Psalm 144:1-2, (NASV)
Oh God and my Rock, may my children praise You. Train their hands for war and their fingers for battle so they may stand strong against the enemy. Oh Lord, let them take refuge in Your lovingkindness as their Fortress, Stronghold, Deliverer, and Shield. Though their life is a fleeting breath, care for them and remember them, I plead. Part the heavens, oh God, and come down to make the mountains smoke. May You scatter their enemies with lightening, wounding them with Your arrows. In the same way, rescue my children from the rushing waters and the hands of the wicked while they sing and make music to You. Give victory, I pray, and deliver my children from the sword. From their youth, let my sons grow like vibrant plants and my daughters like strong pillars adorned in beauty. May You fill their houses with every provision, multiplying their harvests by thousands. Firmly establish my children, oh God, as You make impenetrable their walls and protect them from captivity. Yet fill their mouths with songs of joy rather than distress. Bless them, I plead, and be their God. “I spread out my hands to You; my soul longs for You, like a weary land.” Psalm 143:6, (NASV)
Oh God, listen to my children’s prayers. Hear their cries for mercy. Be faithful, oh righteous Lord and come to their relief. Yet do not cast judgement for none is without blemish. Oh God, when their hearts grow faint and they are crushed by their enemies, strengthen them through meditation on Your great works and faithfulness. May they spread out their hands and thirst after You. But answer them quickly, oh Lord, and do not hide Your face. Each morning remind my children of Your faithfulness and lead them by Your Word so they may trust in You. Be their hiding place, I pray, rescuing them from their enemies. Yet teach them to do Your Will while Your Spirit leads them to firm ground. Oh Lord, in Your righteousness, deliver my children from trouble. In the same way, in Your unfailing love, silence their enemies and destroy their foes so they may serve You. “Give Your attention to my cry, for I have been brought very low; rescue me from my persecutors, for they are too strong for me. Bring my soul out of prison, so that I may give thanks to Your name.” Psalm 142:6-7, (NASV)
Oh Lord, hear my children’s cries for mercy. Let them pour out their troubles to You. When their spirit grows faint or snares are set to entrap them, light their way, I pray. Be their refuge and portion. Yet listen to their cries and save them. Oh God, set my children free so they may praise You because You are good. “Lord, I call upon You; hurry to me! Listen to my voice when I call to You!” Psalm 141:1, (NASV)
Oh Lord, listen to my children’s cries and come quickly to their aid. May their prayers rise like fragrant offerings before You. I pray You will keep close watch over them, guarding their mouths so they do not engage in evil. Instead, fix their eyes upon You, oh sovereign Lord, and grant them refuge beneath the shadow of Your wings. Yet protect my children against death, keep them from snares, and grant them safety. ” I said to the Lord, ‘You are my God; listen, Lord, to the sound of my pleadings.’” Psalm 140:6, (NASV)
Rescue and protect my children from evil men of violence whose tongues are as sharp as serpents. Oh Lord, keep them from the hands of the wicked and their traps. Be their God and hear their cries for mercy. May You shield my children’s head in the day of battle while You thwart the plans of their enemies. Yet heap burning coals upon the wicked, cover their heads with trouble, and throw them into the fire. In the same way, secure justice for my children, oh God. But uphold their cause so they may praise You and live in Your presence as righteous and upright people. "Search me, God, and know my heart; put me to the test and know my anxious thoughts; and see if there is any hurtful way in me.” Psalm 139:23-24, (NASV)
Search my children, oh God, and know them. Know when they sit and when they rise. Perceive their thoughts and discern when they go out or lie down for You know all their ways. Oh Lord, know what words they will speak even before they utter a sound. In the same way, may Your spirit and presence encircle them about from before and from behind. If they go up to the heavens or make their beds in the deep, lead them by Your right hand. If they settle on the wings of the dawn or on the far side of the seas, be with them. Let them give praise to You for You made their in most being and knit them together in the womb in fearful and wonderful ways. Yet You saw them and composed their days even before they were born. Make precious Your thoughts towards them, oh Lord, infinite in their number and more than the sand. When they wake, I pray You will still be with them. But put the wicked to death, oh God, for they speak against You and blaspheme Your Name. Fill their hearts with passion against Your enemies, I plead, despising those who hate You and rise up against You. Search my children and know their hearts. Test them and know their anxious thoughts to see if there is anything offensively grievous within them. Lead my children in Your everlasting ways, oh God, I pray. “Though I walk in the midst of trouble will revive me; You will reach out with Your hand against the wrath of my enemies and Your right hand will save me.” Psalm 138:7, (NASV)
Oh Lord, with all their hearts, may my children praise You and bow in worship of Your love and faithfulness. When they call, answer them and make them bold. May the words of Your mouth fill them with praise and songs of Your glorious ways. Look down upon them from on high, oh Lord, and preserve their lives amidst trouble. Stretch out Your hand to save them, I plead, while You help them fulfill each purpose You have for them. Do not abandon my children nor the works of Your hands for Your faithfulness endures forever. “May my tongue cling to the roof of my mouth if I do not remember You, if I do not exalt Jerusalem above my chief joy.” Psalm 137:6, (NASV)
Oh Lord, when my children weep and their hearts hang low, let them sing songs of joy amidst their enemies. Though they may travel through the wilderness or foreign lands, do not let them forget You. Be my children’s highest joy, oh God, and repay their enemies tenfold. “Give thanks to the God of heaven, for His faithfulness is everlasting.” Psalm 136:26, (NASV)
Oh Lord, may my children give You thanks for You are God of gods, Lord of lords, and Your love endures forever. Oh, may they know Your great wonders for You created the heavens, spread the earth upon the waters, and made the sun, moon, and the stars. Fill them with awe, oh God, at Your mighty hand and outstretched arm for You struck down the first born of Egypt, divided the Red Sea, led Your people through the desert, struck down kings, and gave Your people an inheritance. Oh Lord, when they are low, remember them. Free my children from their enemies, I plead, and provide for their every need. |
