“For the Lord gives wisdom; from His mouth come knowledge and understanding.” Proverbs 2:6, (NASV)
Oh Lord, turn my children’s ear to Your wisdom and their heart to understanding. Help them accept Your words and store up Your commands within them. May they call out to You for insight and cry aloud for understanding, searching for it as treasure. Yet help them understand what it is to fear You and to find Your knowledge. Give them wisdom, oh God, and bless them with the knowledge and understanding which flows from Your mouth. In the same way, grant them victory and be their Shield, helping them walk an upright and blameless life. For You guard the just and protect the faithful. I plead You will let wisdom enter their hearts and knowledge be a delight to their souls. May discretion protect and understanding guard them with wisdom, saving them from adultery and the ways of wicked men. Father God, help them to walk in the ways of the good and keep their feet on the paths of the righteous. Yet cut off their enemies and cast away the unfaithful. May You keep my children upright and blameless so they may remain living in Your great inheritance.

“The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge…” Proverbs 1:7, (NASV)
Oh Lord, I pray my children will attain wisdom and insight while they acquire disciplined, prudent lives by doing what is right, just, and fair. From childhood, give them prudence, knowledge, and discretion through listening, continual learning, and guidance. Let them fear You, oh God, for knowledge begins with awe and reverence of You. Place in their hearts a love of wisdom and discipline. In the same way, adorn them with their father’s instructions and their mothers teaching. But keep away sin’s enticement or the temptation to follow or give way to it. Instead, may wisdom be their cry from streets to public places. Stretch out Your hand to them, oh God, so they do not reject Your wisdom or knowledge but receive the full outpouring of Your heart. Oh Lord, help them heed wisdom, listen to advice, and accept correction. When calamity overtakes them, when disasters sweep over them like a whirlwind, and when distress and troubles overwhelm them, they will find You and You will answer. Yet cause them to listen for You will bless them with safety and ease. “Everything that has breath shall praise the Lorde. Praise the Lord!” Psalm 150:6, (NASV)
Oh Lord, let my children praise you in the sanctuary and in Your mighty heavens. Fill them with praises for Your powerful acts and surpassing greatness. May they praise You with the trumpet, with the harp and with the lyre. Let them dance in praise to You with tambourines, flutes, strings, and clashing cymbals. Oh God, may their every breath praise You, oh Lord. “For the Lord takes pleasure in His people; He will glorify the lowly with salvation.” Psalm 149:4, (NASV)
Oh Lord, fill my children’s lips with a new song of praise to You. In their Maker, let them gladly rejoice. With dance, song, and musical instruments, may they praise Your Name. Yet make their hearts humble so they may be a delight to You and crowned with salvation. From their rising to their sleep, overflow them with rejoicing. In the same way, may their mouths be filled with Your high praises while their hands grip the double-edged sword to wage war against the wicked. “They are to praise the Name of the Lord, for His Name alone is exalted; His majesty is above earth and heaven. And He has lifted up a horn for His people…” Psalm 148:13-14, (NASV)
Let my children praise You in the heavens and in the heights above. May they join with the praises of angels and Your heavenly hosts, worshiping You with the sun, moon, and stars. Fill them with praises to Your Name, oh God. Just as all creation praises Your Name, let them also join in the song of the Lamb. With the mountains, hills, trees, and all creatures, let them praise Your Name. Oh Lord, join their praises with kings, all nations, young people, the aged, and children for You alone are exalted. Your splendor covers the heavens and the earth. Raise them up, oh God, and may Your horn be their strength. Draw my children close to You, I pray, so they may ever praise Your Name. “He counts the number of the stars; He gives names to all of them. Great is our Lord and abundant in strength; His understanding is infinite.” Psalm 147:4-5, (NASV)
Oh Lord, may my children love to praise You for how good and pleasing it is to worship You. Gather them up, oh God, and heal their broken hearts as You bind up their wounds. You, who know each star by name, who is great and mighty in power, and whose understanding holds no limits, sustain them and cast their enemies to the ground. Fill their hearts with songs of thanksgiving to You while they praise You with music. Yet let them fear You and place their Hope in Your unfailing love. May they extol and praise You for You strengthen and bless those who make You their refuge. With good things, satisfy them. In their homes, bless them with peace. Oh Lord. reveal Your Word to them and help them cherish Your decrees. “The Lord will reign forever, Your God, Zion, to all generations. Praise the Lord!” Psalm 146:10, (NASV)
Oh Lord, may my children praise You all their lives. Let them sing to You all their days while You help them to trust solely in You. For You will bless those who place their Hope in You, oh God of Jacob. Remain faithful to them, oh Maker of heaven and earth as You also uphold their cause and provide for their needs. Set them free from their chains and open their eyes so they might see You. Yet lift them up and bless them, I pray. Oh Lord, I plead with You to watch over and sustain them as You frustrate the wicked. May You reign forever in my children’s lives and let them praise Your holy Name. “The Lord is gracious and compassionate; slow to anger and great in mercy.” Psalm 145:8, (NASV)
Oh Lord, let my children exalt and praise Your Name forever. May they daily praise You for You are great and worthy of praise. Let them tell of Your marvelous works, oh God, speaking of Your glorious majesty, meditating on Your words, and proclaiming Your great deeds. Oh God, I pray You will shower them with Your abundant goodness so they may celebrate Your righteousness with joy. Pour out Your grace, compassion, and rich love but be slow to anger. Lord, I pray they will extol You and praise You, telling of Your glorious Kingdom and speaking of Your wonderful might. Be faithful to them, I plead, for You fulfill Your promises and love to all whom You have created. When they fall, uphold them. When they are bowed low, lift them up. Yet let their eyes look to You with trust in Your timely provision. Lord, open Your hand so You might satisfy their desires for You are righteous in all Your ways and love all whom You have made. When they call, draw near to them, and fulfill them. Hear their pleas and save them, I pray. In the same way, watch over them, oh God, as You destroy the wicked. Fill my children’s mouths with praise to Your Holy Name forever. “Blessed be the Lord, my Rock, who trains my hands for war, and my fingers for battle; my faithfulness and my fortress, my stronghold and my Savior, my shield and He whom I take refuge.” Psalm 144:1-2, (NASV)
Oh God and my Rock, may my children praise You. Train their hands for war and their fingers for battle so they may stand strong against the enemy. Oh Lord, let them take refuge in Your lovingkindness as their Fortress, Stronghold, Deliverer, and Shield. Though their life is a fleeting breath, care for them and remember them, I plead. Part the heavens, oh God, and come down to make the mountains smoke. May You scatter their enemies with lightening, wounding them with Your arrows. In the same way, rescue my children from the rushing waters and the hands of the wicked while they sing and make music to You. Give victory, I pray, and deliver my children from the sword. From their youth, let my sons grow like vibrant plants and my daughters like strong pillars adorned in beauty. May You fill their houses with every provision, multiplying their harvests by thousands. Firmly establish my children, oh God, as You make impenetrable their walls and protect them from captivity. Yet fill their mouths with songs of joy rather than distress. Bless them, I plead, and be their God. “I spread out my hands to You; my soul longs for You, like a weary land.” Psalm 143:6, (NASV)
Oh God, listen to my children’s prayers. Hear their cries for mercy. Be faithful, oh righteous Lord and come to their relief. Yet do not cast judgement for none is without blemish. Oh God, when their hearts grow faint and they are crushed by their enemies, strengthen them through meditation on Your great works and faithfulness. May they spread out their hands and thirst after You. But answer them quickly, oh Lord, and do not hide Your face. Each morning remind my children of Your faithfulness and lead them by Your Word so they may trust in You. Be their hiding place, I pray, rescuing them from their enemies. Yet teach them to do Your Will while Your Spirit leads them to firm ground. Oh Lord, in Your righteousness, deliver my children from trouble. In the same way, in Your unfailing love, silence their enemies and destroy their foes so they may serve You. |
