“May all who seek You rejoice and be glad in You…” Psalm 70:4, (NASV)
Come quickly to help my children, oh God. May You put to shame and confusion those who seek my children’s lives. I ask You to fill them with gladness and a love of Your salvation. When my children seek You, pour out Your joy. When they are poor and needy, do not delay. Hasten to their aid, oh Help and Deliverer.

“Answer me, Lord, for Your mercy is good; according to the greatness of Your compassion, turn to me, and do not hide Your face from Your servant, for I am in distress; answer me quickly.” Psalm 69:16-17, (NASV) When the waters rise and my children sink in the mire, oh Lord, save them. Let not floods engulf them nor let the deep waters claim them. When they are weary, give them firm footing and hear their calls. Even when their enemies outnumber the hairs on their heads and people seek to destroy them, bring them not to shame or disgrace. Instead, consume them with a zeal for Your house as they weep and fast. When my children are mocked, scorned, and ridiculed, give them strength. Answer them out of Your love in Your time of favor with a sure salvation. Rescue them from the mire, do not let them sink, and deliver them from the deep waters. Let not pits entrap them nor floods engulf them but answer them from the goodness of Your love. Turn to them and do not hide Your face. In the same way, draw near and rescue them so they may be redeemed from their foes. When my children’s hearts are crushed and they are left helpless, snare and blind their enemies. Pour out Your wrath and overtake their foes with Your fierce anger. Likewise, when my children are in pain and distress, May You protect them with Your salvation. Oh Lord, may my children praise You with songs and glorify You with thanksgiving. Oh God, let my children see You and be glad, seeking after You with lifted hearts. Thank You for hearing their needs and loving them. I pray they will join with all heaven and earth, the seas and all which moves in them, in praise to You. Save them, oh God, and grant them an eternal inheritance so they may dwell with You forever. “Sing to God, sing praises to His Name; exalt Him who rides through the deserts, whose name is the Lord, and be jubilant before Him” Psalm 68:4, (NASV)
Arise, oh God, and scatter my children’s enemies, causing them to flee and perish. Fill my children with happiness and joy as they sing and extol Your Name. Let them rejoice before You, oh God, who is Father to the Fatherless and the Defender of widows. Lead forth my children through the desert wasteland and refresh them with showers of abundance. Speak Your Word to their hearts so they may greatly proclaim it as You scatter their enemies like snow. Even when they sleep, may You guard and shelter them beneath the feathers of Your wings. Oh God, let them gaze upon Your holy mountain where You reign and dwell forever. Praise You, our God and Savior, for You daily bare our burdens. Save my children, oh God. Help them escape death and crush the heads of their foes. Let them join the processional into Your holy sanctuary with songs and music. With praise, may they yield to Your power which rebukes and humbles the nations. May they sing to You, oh God, joining with the praises of all the kingdoms of the earth. Lord God Almighty, let my children proclaim Your power for You ride the ancient skies and thunder with mighty voice. Make know to them Your majesty which is over Israel and whose power is in the heavens. Oh Lord, give strength and power to my children in Your sanctuary for You are an awesome and holy God. “God be gracious to us and bless us and cause His face to shine upon us.” Psalm 67:1, (NASV)
Be gracious to my children, oh Lord. Bless them and make Your face shine upon them. Make know to them Your ways and Your salvation. Fill them with gladness and songs of joyful praise. For You are just and You guide our steps. Oh Lord, may You overflow my children with praises of blessings and bounty for You are good. Psalm 66
“Bless our God, you peoples, and sound His praise abroad, who keeps us in life, and does not allow our feet to slip.” Psalm 66:8-9, (NASV) Fill my children with joyful shouts to Your Name and songs of Your glory. Make real to them Your awesome deeds and great power. Oh Lord, may they bow down and sing praises to You. I pray You will open their eyes to witness Your awesome wonders and the mighty works of Your hands. Let them rejoice in Your power and loudly proclaim Your praises. As You test them, refine them like silver and preserve them with feet which do not slip. Oh Lord, free them from the nets, lift off the burdens, and bring them through the fire into a place of Your great abundance. When You have delivered them, may my children not forget to fulfill the vows which they uttered in their times of need. But let them bring sacrifices of praise and tell of all You have done. Purge them of sin, I plead, and do not reject them. Withhold not Your love but listen to their cries. Hear the prayers of my children, oh God. On Sunday, August 4th, Joan C. Benson and I were honored to learn that we took second place for the Children’s Fiction Book of the Year for one of our books, Let’s Be One: God’s Human Race (Elk Lake), illustrated by Holly Pallet. This book is part of our Cornerstone Concepts for Kids series.
“Who establishes the mountains by His strength, who is encircled with might; who stills the roaring of the seas, the roaring of their waves, and the turmoil of the nations. They who dwell at the ends of the earth stand in awe of Your signs; You make the sunrise and the sunset shout for joy.” Psalm 65:6-8, (NASV) God of salvation, Fill my children with daily praises to You. Hear their prayers, I plead, and draw them near while You forgive them of sin. I pray my children will find favor in Your sight and will be filled with Your blessings. Answer their prayers with Your mighty righteous deeds. For You are the Hope of the whole earth and Lord of the farthest seas. I pray You will still their inner turmoil and all which threatens to befall them. Call forth from them songs of joy as they hear and see Your wonders. Oh Lord, please tend and care for my children. Water them with Your Spirit and enrich the soil of their souls. May You crown them with Your bountiful blessings. In the same manner, clothe my children with gladness and fill them with shouts of joy. “The righteous person will be glad in the Lord and take refuge in Him; and all the upright in heart will boast.” Psalm 64:10, (NASV)
Hear my children, oh God. Protect them from their enemies while You hide them from snares and conspiring tongues. Strike down the wicked and turn their tongues against them, bringing them to ruin. May my children fear and proclaim Your works while they stand in Your awe and wonder. Let them rejoice and take refuge in You, praising Your Name forever “When I remember You on my bed, I meditate on You in the night watches, for You have been my help, and in the shadows of Your wings I sing for joy.” Psalm 63:6-7, (NASV)
Oh God, cause my children to seek and thirst after You. Let their eyes behold Your power and glory. With hands lifted high and mouths filled with song, may they praise and bless Your Name forever. IN the same way, grant them favor that is blessed more than life itself. When they lie down to sleep, let them meditate on You and sing for joy beneath the shadow of Your wings. Be their help, oh God. Remember them, I plead. May they cling to You as You uphold them with Your right hand. Destroy their enemies, oh God, making them fall prey to foxes and the sword. Let my children boast and rejoice in Your Name. “My soul, wait in silence for God alone, for my hope is from Him. He alone is my rock and salvation, my refuge; I will not be shaken.” Psalm 62:5-6, (NASV)
Let my children’s soul find rest in You. Never let them be shaken, oh God, and be their Fortress of Hope. I pray You alone will be their Rock and Salvation. Be their strength and refuge, oh God. When their hearts pour out before You, hear them and help them trust You. Oh Most High, keep them from misplacing their trust, deriving pride in dishonest measures, or setting their hearts on growing riches. But let them hear Your voice of power and faithfulness. Remember my children, oh God, and reward them according to what they have done. |
