“You called in trouble and I rescued you; I answered you in the hiding place of thunder…” Psalm 81:7, (NASV)
Let my children worship You through joyful songs, shouts of praise, and the playing of musical instruments. Remove their burdens from their shoulders, oh God, and set their hands free. When they cry out in distress, answer them out of Your temple. Be their Lord and their God, taking first place in their hearts. Let them heed Your voice with joyful submission to Your ways so You will turn against their enemies and subdue them. Yet with my children, Satisfy them with the finest of grains and sweetest of honey’s.

“God of armies, restore us and make Your face shine upon us, and we will be saved.” Psalm 80:7, (NASV) Hear my children, oh God, and shine Your awakening might so You may come and save us. Let not Your anger smolder against my children but restore and shine Your face upon them. Do not let their enemies mock them nor let shame cover them. But look down and return so You are watching over them and raising them up. When they are cut down, consumed by fire, and rebuked by You, rest Your hand on them and strengthen them. DO not turn away but revive them. Restore my children, oh God, and make Your face shine upon them. “Do not hold us responsible for the guilty deeds of our forefathers; let Your compassion come quickly to meet us, for we have become very low. Help us, God of our salvation, for the glory of Your Name; and save us and forgive our sins for the sake of Your Name.” Psalm 79:8-9, (NASV)
Oh God, when the world which surrounds my children scorns and ridicules You, let them stand firm in Your ways and acknowledge You in all they do. May they call out to You for help. Hasten to meet them with Your mercy for they are in desperate need of Your help. Forgive their sins, oh God, for Your glory and Your Name’s sake. But avenge those who persecute them. Hear their groans and preserve their lives while You repay their enemies sevenfold. At the strength of Your arm, let them praise and rejoice in You forever as they tell of Your wonderful deeds to generation to generation. “…I will tell riddles of old, which we have heard and known, and our fathers have told us. We will not conceal them from their children, but we will tell the generation to come the praises of the Lord, and His power and His wondrous works that He has done.” Psalm 78:12-14, (NASV)
Open the eyes of my children and bless them with spiritual wisdom so Your hidden truths may be made plain. Let them know and tell of Your power, praiseworthy deeds, and the wonders You have performed throughout the ages to the next generation. Protect them against a stubborn and rebellious heart, oh God, so they may keep Your covenant and live by Your law. May they never forget of Your wonders and miracles but believe and trust in You. Oh Lord, make their hearts faithful, remembering You are their Rock and Redeemer. Restrain Your anger, I pray, but be merciful. In the same way, forgive my children of sin and deliver them from their enemies. “I will meditate on all Your work, and on Your deeds with thanksgiving. Your way, God, is holy…” Psalm 77:12-13, (NASV)
Oh Lord, hear my children’s cries for they are in distress. Reveal Yourself to them and comfort them with Your presence. May You remember them in their weariness and groanings. DO not reject my children, oh Lord, but show them favor for Your love is unfailing. Remind them of Your past faithfulness and kept promises, I pray, so they may meditate on Your work and consider Your mighty deeds. IN the same way, pour out Your mercy and compassion. I pray You will open their eyes to Your miracles while You display Your power for even the seas, clouds, and skies obey Your commands. Through turbulent waters, may You be my children’s guide, Leading them by the hand in the wilderness and desert wasteland. “Make vows to the Lord Your God and fulfill them; all who are around Him are to bring gifts to Him who is to be feared.” Psalm 76:11, (NASV)
Lord my God, reveal Yourself and Your place of dwelling to my children so they may witness the splendor of Your Light and the majesty of Your mountains. Speak but a word and still their enemies while You put them to plunder. Rebuke their adversaries, oh God, and cause them to slumber. Speak judgment over the wicked, making them silent and tremble in fear. Rise up, oh God of Jacob. Save my children from their affliction and arm Yourself with Your wrath. May You oh God, who is to be feared, be pleased with my children’s gifts of sacrifice and praise, helping them to honor their vows to You. Break the spirits of my children’s enemies, I pray, and strike them down. “He will cut off all the horns of the wicked, but the horns of the righteous will be lifted up.” Psalm 75:10, (NASV)
Overflow my children with thanksgiving to You. Let them declare Your wonderful deeds. When the earth quakes, keep them from fear for You have chosen each appointed hour and hold the earth’s pillars firm. Oh Lord, form their hearts to be humble without pride or arrogance so they exalt You rather than themselves. Yet, I pray You will exalt them above their enemies for You are Judge over all the earth. Cut down the wicked, I plead, and lift up my children to You. Let my children sing praises to You, oh God of Jacob. “Yet God is my King from long ago, who performs acts of salvation in the midst of the earth.” Psalm 74:12, (NASV)
Oh God, reject not my children nor let Your anger smolder against them. When enemies revile and mock them, destroy them with Your right hand for You split open the seas, established the sun and moon, and set all the boundaries of the earth. Remember Your covenant and do not forget my children in their afflictions nor allow them to retreat in disgrace. Rise up, oh God, and defend them. Do not ignore their enemies or Your adversaries. Let them praise You, oh God, for Your power and mercy are great. “My flesh and my heart may fail, but God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.” Psalm 73:26, (NASV)
Oh God, make my children pure in heart and their footing firm. Keep them from envying the earthly prosperity of the wicked. Instead, comfort them with the Hope of eternity with You. Cast the wicked down and make their footing slip as You sweep them away and destroy them with terror. When my children are grieved and embittered, hold them by their right hand and be always with them. May You guide them with Your counsel and let them taste of Your heavenly glory. Oh Lord, I pray You will be more than enough for my children where they desire nothing else but You. When their flesh and hearts fail, may You be their portion and strength. Draw near them, I plead, and be their refuge. “Blessed be the Lord God, the God of Israel, who alone works wonders. And blessed be His glorious Name forever; and may the whole earth be filled with His glory.” Psalm 72:18-19, (NASV)
Lord God of Israel, endow my children with righteousness and justice. Defend their afflictions and save my children in their times of need. I pray You will crush their oppressors, oh God, but fall like rain upon them so they will flourish and prosper. Rule in them like the unending expanse of the ocean. May they bow in humble service, bringing offerings of worship to You. Deliver and save them from oppression and violence, I plead, for they are precious to You. May You bless them with bountiful harvests and help them thrive like the grass in the fields. Without ceasing, let them praise Your glorious Name for Your works are marvelous and You will endure forever. |
