“Now for this very reason also, applying all diligence, in your faith supply moral excellence, and in your moral excellence, knowledge, and in your knowledge, self-control, and in your self-control, perseverance, and in your perseverance, godliness, and in your godliness, brotherly kindness, and in your brotherly kindness, love. For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they render you neither useless nor unfruitful in the true knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.” II Peter 1: 5 – 8 (NASB) A Prayer Over Our ChildrenDear Lord, let my daughter possess faith, goodness, knowledge, self-control, and perseverance with increasing measure. Likewise, let her grow with godliness, brotherly kindness, and love. Clothe her in these qualities so that she will be made effective and productive in her knowledge of You. Cleanse her from her sin, oh God, and make her calling sure. May she never fall and may You richly welcome her into Your kingdom. Remind her of these truths, oh God, and firmly establish her in them. Oh Lord, let Your light shine through the darkness like the dawn. Be like the morning star to her, rising high to light her path and illuminate her heart. Carry her, Holy Spirit, and reside in her that You may commune with her and speak through her words to others. ...

“Therefore He is able to save completely those who come to God through Him, because He always lives to intercede for them. Such a high priest truly meets our needs – one who is holy, blameless, pure, set apart from sinners, exalted above the heavens.” Hebrews 7:25-26, NIV Prayer Over Our ChildrenBless my daughter, oh Lord, through the inheritance of Your promises. Raise her up from her family line to serve You in deeper, new ways. Set her apart, oh God, from what has previously been weak and useless so that You may draw her close to You through the introduction of Your Greater Hope. Thank You for how You live to intercede for her and for each one of us. May she come to You and may You meet each one of her needs through Your holiness, purity, innocence, preservation from sin, and exalted seat above the heavens.
Philemon 1:6 Prayer Over Our ChildrenOh Lord, bring up my child in Your love and grace. Make her useful for Your kingdom, oh God, and a beloved sister in Christ to all those she meets. Refresh her spirit, oh Lord, and bless her with a heart of obedience. May You hear her requests and answer her prayers with overflowing abundance. Prepare her a room in Your heavenly home and grant her great joy. ...
Mild irritation boiled just beneath my skin. The entire day held elements that pushed, poked, and prodded my patience and tongue! Finding out that my original post for Ephesians Chapter 6 was riddled with necessary rewrites added insult to injury. By the time we hit dinner, my irritation bubbled over. “What do you mean?” I quizzed my husband, “that doesn’t add up!” I glowered at him across the room, “Something isn’t quite right!” ...
