“The law of the Lord is perfect, refreshing the soul. The statues of the Lord are trustworthy, making wise the simple.” Psalm 19:7 Lord Most High, give my children ears to hear the heavens declare Your glory and the skies proclaim Your marvelous works. Revive my children’s souls by Your perfect law and help them to trust in Your statutes. May Your ways bless them with wisdom and guide their choices. In the same way, may Your precepts bring them joy and Your commandments fill them with light. I pray my children will revere You, oh God. May they find Your ordinances more precious than gold or sweeter than honey. Forgive my children of their sins, I plead, but reward them when they obey Your commandments. How I pray the words of their mouths and the meditations of their hearts will be pleasing to You, oh Rock and Redeemer.

“He makes my feet like the feet of a deer; He causes me to stand on the heights.” Psalm 18:33 Let my children learn to love You, oh God. May You be their strength, rod, fortress, and their Deliverer as they take refuge in You. IN the same way, be their Shield, Rock, and Stronghold. When they call out for You, protect them against their enemies and keep them safe. When they are overwhelmed and confronted by death, hear their cries from Your temple. Let the earth quake and the mountains tremble with Your anger. Part the clouds, oh God, and come down. Mount Your cherubim and fly to their aid, using darkness as Your cover. Advance against their enemies with hailstones and bolts of lightning as Your voice thunders and resounds in the heavens. Scatter and rout their enemies as you reach down and draw them out of deep waters. Rescue them, oh God, and find them a delight in Your eyes. Reward their righteousness and clean hands as You help them walk in Your ways and remain faithful. Do not let them turn from Your decrees, oh God, and help them to stay blameless without sin. Reward them, oh God, according to their righteousness. Oh God, may You deliver my children from all attacks, making them leaders over nations. Let their lips praise and exalt you, oh God, for You are their avenger, subduing and saving them from all enemies. Rescue them and exalt them above their foes so that they will sing praises to Your Name. Give them victory, oh God, and show them Your unfailing kindness. May You anoint my children and their descendants, I plead.  “I call on You, my God, for You will answer me; turn Your ear to me and hear my prayer.” Psalm 17:6 Hear my children’s plea, oh Lord. Listen to their cries and give ear to their prayers. Vindicate them, oh God, and see if they are righteous. Look with your eyes to see what is right as You probe their hearts, examine their thoughts, and test them. May You fine their mouths without sin and their deeds righteous. In the same way, hold their steps to Your path and keep their feet from slipping. Answer them when they call. Give ear to them and hear their prayers. Show them the wonder of Your great love as You provide refuge and safety from their enemies. Oh Lord, hide them in the shadow of Your wings and keep them as the apple of Your eye. When wicked men hunt and surround, rise up, oh Lord, and confront them. Cast down their enemies and rescue them by Your sword. Save my children, I pray, so they may delight in seeing Your face and beholding Your likeness.  “You make known to me the path of life; You will fill me with joy in Your presence.” Psalm 16:11 Keep my children safe, oh God. Be their refuge and Lord. May You bless them with every good thing. I pray they will not run after other gods so they may know Your joy. Assign them Your portion and Your cup, I pray, making their lots secure and blessing their inheritance. Council and instruct their hearts, oh God, while You fill their mouths with Your praises. In the same way, may You set Yourself always before them as their right hand. But let them never be shaken. Instead, fill them with all joy and give their bodies rest, filling their tongues with praises and their hearts with gladness. Make known to my children the path of life while You bless them with eternal pleasures.  |
