“Then I saw another mighty angel coming down from heaven. He was robed in a cloud, with a rainbow above his head; his face was like the sun, and his legs were like fiery pillars. He was holding a little scroll, which lay open in his hand. He planted his right foot on the sea and his left foot on the land, and he gave a loud shout like the roar of a lion. When he shouted, the voices of the seven thunders spoke.” (Revelations 10:1-3 NIV) Prayer Over Our ChildrenMay my daughter’s eyes behold the wonders of heaven and of your angels. Oh God, reveal Your might and power. Let her ears hear the angels roar and the voices of thunder speak. May Your voice be her guide. Like the angels, I pray she will pledge herself to You who lives forever and who created the heavens, earth, and the seas. Oh God, announce to her the accomplishment of Your mystery while You fill her mouth with prophecy. Amen. ...

“This is the confidence which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the requests which we have asked from Him.” I John 5:14-15 (NASB) Prayer Over Our ChildrenLet my daughter be born of You, oh God, and bring her to a deep love of Your Son, Jesus Christ. May her love for You shine through her obedience to Your ways and the carrying out of Your commandments. Grant her victory in overcoming the world by her unwavering belief in Jesus Christ as Your Son, through whom You offer eternal life. ...
Crowded stores, empty shelves, and long lines greeted my husband today as he attempted to stock up our house.
“It’s so surreal.” He shook his head as he put away the few items he'd managed to procure. “I can’t believe it.” My heart sank. With paranoia nipping at my heels, I wondered how careful we indeed needed to be. A friend had just informed me that it had been recommended that all clothes should be stripped off the body and immediately washed after venturing outside, followed by a thorough shower for the person. Suggestions to wash all canned goods and leave plastic shopping bags outside the home also rang in my ears. Moreover, the unprecedented combination of cancelled schools, children at home, job layoffs, businesses closing, and church cancellations were enough to rattle my bones. ... “. . . but if we walk in the Light as He Himself is in the Light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses from all sin.” ~ I John 1:7 A Prayer Over Our ChildrenOh Lord, let my child see, hear, and touch Your Word of Life that she may boldly proclaim to all people that You are Light. Make her joy complete, oh God, and draw her close to You in intimate communion. OH Father, I pray that You will surround her not with darkness but let her walk in the Light as You are in the Light so that she may know fellowship one with another. Foster within my child a heart of repentance, oh God, so she may confess her sins and be purified by Your blood from all unrighteousness. Be faithful to my child, oh God, I pray.
“But the day of the Lord will come like a thief, in which the heavens will pass away with a roar and the elements will be destroyed with intense heat, and the earth and its works will be burned up.” ~ II Peter 3:10 (NASB) A Prayer Over Our ChildrenOh Lord, stimulate within my child wholesome thinking that keeps Your Word fresh upon her heart. Please protect her from scoffers and evil doers in the last days so that fear or ambivalence will not possess a foothold. Instead, continually fill her with awe and wonder at Your great works and the power of Your right hand. Be patient with my child, oh God, that she will not perish but be brought to repentance in You. ...
“But false prophets also arose among the people, just as there will also be false teachers among you, who will secretly introduce destructive heresies, even denying the Master who bought them, bringing swift destruction upon themselves. . . 9the Lord knows how to rescue the godly from temptation, and to keep the unrighteous under punishment for the day of judgment.” II Peter 2: 1, 9 (NASB) A Prayer Over Our ChildrenOh Lord, protect my daughter from heresies and false teachings. I pray that You will keep her faithful to Your truths and grant her discernment. Oh God, have mercy upon her and spare her, condemning her not, but protecting and rescuing her from trials. Shield her from corrupt and blaspheming men, dear Lord, that she may be kept from sinful desires of the flesh. I plead that You will guard her against the seduction of the world and that You will keep her on the straight and narrow path. Open her eyes, oh God, so that she may not be enticed by the lustful desires of men. Instead, make man’s depravity and corrupted ways detestable to her. How I pray that she will never turn her back against You or Your sacred commandments. Rather, may You strengthen her to flee temptation and to walk the path of righteousness, oh God, so that she will never stray and follow You all the days of her life. ...
“Now for this very reason also, applying all diligence, in your faith supply moral excellence, and in your moral excellence, knowledge, and in your knowledge, self-control, and in your self-control, perseverance, and in your perseverance, godliness, and in your godliness, brotherly kindness, and in your brotherly kindness, love. For if these qualities are yours and are increasing, they render you neither useless nor unfruitful in the true knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.” II Peter 1: 5 – 8 (NASB) A Prayer Over Our ChildrenDear Lord, let my daughter possess faith, goodness, knowledge, self-control, and perseverance with increasing measure. Likewise, let her grow with godliness, brotherly kindness, and love. Clothe her in these qualities so that she will be made effective and productive in her knowledge of You. Cleanse her from her sin, oh God, and make her calling sure. May she never fall and may You richly welcome her into Your kingdom. Remind her of these truths, oh God, and firmly establish her in them. Oh Lord, let Your light shine through the darkness like the dawn. Be like the morning star to her, rising high to light her path and illuminate her heart. Carry her, Holy Spirit, and reside in her that You may commune with her and speak through her words to others. ...
“…faith by itself, if it is not accompanied by action, is dead.” ~James 2:17, NIV Prayer Over Our ChildrenMay my daughter love her neighbor as herself, judging not nor casting favoritism. I pray that she will speak and live out Your Word so that she may know true freedom in Christ. Grant her mercy, oh Lord, and may she likewise show mercy to others. Give her faith feet, oh God, so that both faith and action may work in her life and through her to touch the lives of others. Choose my little girl, oh Lord, and make her rich in faith and an heir to Your Kingdom.
“This you know, my beloved brethren. But everyone must be quick to hear, slow to speak and slow to anger; for the anger of man does not achieve the righteousness of God” James 1:19-20, NASV Prayer Over Our ChildrenBless my daughter with all joy when she undergoes trials. I pray that You will use this testing to foster within her a complete and mature persevering faith. When she asks for wisdom, I pray that You will grant it to her in abundance. Oh God, mold within her a humble, servant’s heart and a deep love for You. Help her stand firm during trials, so that she may receive Your blessings and promised crown of life while You protect her against temptation, evil desire, and sin. ...
“. . . how much more will the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without blemish to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God? For this reason He is the mediator of a new covenant, so that, since a death has taken place for the redemption of the transgressions that were committed under the first covenant, those who have been called may receive the promise of the eternal inheritance.” Hebrews 9:14-15 NASB Prayer Over Our ChildrenKeep my daughter from useless rituals but cleanse her by the blood of Your perfect sacrifice. Call her to You so that she may receive Your promised eternal inheritance and that she may serve You, the Living God. Purify her, oh God, and take away her sin so that she may know salvation and await Your glorious return. ...
