Psalm 41
“As for me, You uphold me in my integrity, and YOU place me in Your presence forever. Blessed be the Lord, the God of Israel, from everlasting to everlasting.” Psalm 41:12-13, (NASV) Lord, make my children thoughtfully aware of the weak and helpless for You are their deliverer. I pray You will protect and preserve them from harm while You pour out Your blessings. Be merciful, oh God, and heal them. When they are sick, Sustain and restore them. When their enemies gather to speak evil, protect them from slanderous and whispering tongues. Even when friends betray them, raise them up so they may be vindicated. OH God, let not their enemies triumph over them. Instead, I pray You will uphold and bring my children into Your eternal presence so they may praise Your Name forever.

“You Lord, will not withhold Your compassion from me; Your mercy and Your truth will continually watch over me.” Psalm 40:11 (NASV)
OH my Lord, help my children wait patiently for YOU. May You turn to them and hear their cries. Lift them from the pit and stand their feet firmly on Your rock. I pray You will put a new song of praise in their mouths for many fear and trust in You. OH God, reveal to them Your wonders while You unfold before them the plans You have for them. Instead of burnt offerings and sacrifices, I pray Your Will may be their delight. In the same way, let them proclaim Your righteousness, faithfulness, and salvation, making Your love and truth plain to all. Withhold not Your mercy, I plead, but always protect them with Your love and truth, letting their sins not overtake them. Save them, oh Lord, and come quickly to their aid. Visit shame, confusion, and disgrace upon those who desire their ruin and destruction. When they seek You, may You fill them with rejoicing and gladness. In my children’s times of need, remember and think of them, oh God. Do not delay but be their help and deliverer. “Hear my prayer, Lord, and listen to my cry for help; do not be silent to my tears…” Psalm 39:12 (NASV)
Most holy God, watch over my children and keep their tongues from sin. Show them the number of their days for our lives are just a breath spanning before You. Oh Lord, fix their Hope upon You and save them from their transgressions while You protect them from the scorn of men. Remove Your affliction and do not overcome them. IN the same way, hear their cries and give ear to their prayers. When my children weep, I pray You will not be silent. Official OnlineBookClub.org Review of "Let's Be One" by Joan C. Benson and Marjorie Wingert.2/9/2024 Let's Be One: God's Human Race by Joan C. Benson and Marjorie Wingert is a book that teaches fundamental concepts to young Christians. It explains how, although we are all different, we are created in God's image. Just as each part of the body has its function, and one cannot replace the other, each of us has a specific task, too. Our duty is to work as a team for the good of humanity, always remembering that only by sharing and loving everyone else can we say that we have realized God's plan for us.
I liked how the authors addressed these issues, making them clear and understandable even for the youngest readers. The book is short, and you read it quickly, but I suggest rereading it several times because only in this way can its profoundly Christian message of love and union be understood. I also really appreciated that the authors underlined how each of us is important and that it is essential that we all work together for the good of humanity. This topic is very close to my heart, and I believe it is often underestimated. On the contrary, it is the key to creating a better world that conforms to God's will. The book is well-edited; I only found one irrelevant typo while reading. Furthermore, I must say that the illustrations are very colorful and beautiful, and I liked looking at them. Overall, I do not think Let's Be One has any negative side. I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars because it is a pleasant read, which will allow young readers to understand what God expects of them and help Christian parents and teachers with a valuable tool to guide their little ones' reflections. It is to these people that I recommend this book, with the hope that they can benefit from its teachings. “For I wait for You, Lord; YOU will answer, Lord my God.” Psalm 38:15 (NASV)
Forgive my children’s sin, oh Lord. Do not discipline or rebuke them in Your wrath but answer them as they wait. I pray You will keep them from falling. In the same way, strengthen and lift them up above their enemies. When they are surrounded and slandered, do not forsake them. Draw close, oh God, and come quickly to my children’s aid. |
