Proverbs tells us a joyful heart is good medicine. How true this is! With the trials of late, I confess that joy has been lacking. But praise the Lord! Last night, God infused our hearts with shared laughter and joy. Oh to shriek with big belly laughs! It filled and knit our hearts together. It lifted our countenance and permeated light. Oh what a gift!
Even as I write this, a smile graces my lips. Friends, may we all experience increased moments for laughter and joy. May we seek these opportunities with eagerness and zeal. Most of all, may we seek God who is the true source of our joy. May the joy of the Lord be your strength today. Amen.

Joshua 1:9 (NIV)
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be discouraged; do not be afraid, for the Lord Your God will be with you wherever you go.” I love this verse. God is telling Joshua, I have already spoken to you. I have already told you what to do. This encourages me because it assures me God will speak clearly and direct our path. He will guide us if only we will listen. God is telling us to be strong and courageous. Even though what is in front of us seems insurmountable and impossible, be strong and be courageous. But on top of this, do not be discouraged nor afraid. In this journey, we get knocked down and it is easy to feel defeated. Do not be discouraged friends. Do not be fearful. Fear not. But why should we not? Because the Lord God is with us wherever we go. Praise You Lord! And notice, God tells Joshua that God is His God. This reflects the personal relationship with God. That God is not an impartial observer but one who is intimately involved in every step of our journey. Amen and amen. Oh God, speak clearly to me this day. Reinforce what it is You want me to do in such a way where there is absolute confidence. Forgive me for wavering and doubting. Instead, bless me with strength, confidence, and a deep assurance in Your Will. Protect me from discouragement and fear. May Your presence richly indwell in me wherever I go this day. Be with me, for You are my God. |
