“Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him…” –Psalm 37:7 (NASV)
Let those who are evil not upset my children nor cause them envy. Instead, may my children trust in You and do good, fostering faithfulness wherever they go. Fill them with an insatiable delight of You, oh God, for You give us the desires of our hearts. How I pray my children will dedicate their lives and ways to You so their paths may be illuminated with righteousness and judgment. OH God, show my children how to be still before You and to wait patiently on Your timing. Teach them to refrain from anger, turn from wrath, and cease from worrying, I pray. Instead, mold them to be meek so they will inherit Your land and enjoy peace. Likewise, may You protect them from the sword of the wicked, breaking evil men’s power and upholding the righteous. When disaster strikes, prevent them from withering. When famine assails, bless them with plenty. Take joy in my children, oh God, making firm their steps. Uphold them when they stumble so they do not fall. In the same way, may YOU bless them with generous hearts as You bless their children from generation to generation. I pray You will never forsake them but protect them all their days. Oh Lord, turn their hearts from evil. Instead, help them do good. May You fill their mouths with wise and just words, hiding Your truth within them so they will not stumble. Yet, help them to wait for You and keep Your ways so they may prosper in peace. OH God my God, be my children’s stronghold and deliverer in times of trouble. Be their refuge and their strength.

“Your mercy, Lord, extends to the heavens, Your faithfulness reaches to the skies. Your righteousness is like the mountains of God; Your judgements are like the great deep.” Psalm 36:5-6, (NASV)
Protect my children, oh God. Keep them wise and doing good, I pray, with deceit and wickedness possessing no hold over them. Set my children on a good path, I pray and help them reject evil. OH God my God, let my children receive Your mercy which spreads to the heavens. Help them to know Your faithfulness which extends to the skies. OH Lord, let them walk in Your righteousness in the might of the mountains while Your justice covers them like the ocean deep. Find my children, oh God, beneath the shadow of Your wings, drinking from Your rivers of abundance. With their eyes, let them see Your light while Your mercy and righteousness covers them. Protect my children from pride, I plead. Yet when enemies strike, help my children stand strong and not be driven away. “…Lord, do not be far from me. Stir Yourself, and awake to my right and to my cause, my God and my Lord.” Psalm 35:22-23 (NASV)
Lord my God, fight against those who attack my children. When they are pursued, rise up to defend them with shield, spear, and battle-ax. I pray You will turn back and humiliate those who conspire evil against my children. Make their enemy’s paths dark and slippery, oh Lord, heaping destruction upon them and capturing them with Your net. Fill my children with the joy of Your salvation. But when false and malicious witnesses gather against my children with slander and lies, rescue them. Be not silent nor far from them, oh Lord, but awaken to their cause. Clothe their enemies with shame and humiliation, I plead. Vindicate my children, oh God. May my children exalt and rejoice in You, proclaiming Your righteousness and praise morning and night. “I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth.” Psalm 34:1 (NASV)
May Your praises fill my children’s mouths at all times. Fill their souls with boasting in You, exalting Your name. When my children seek You, answer and rescue them from their fears. Out of their wretchedness, I pray You will hear and save them. Encamp about them, oh Lord, and be their refuge. How I pray their tongues will taste and their eyes will see Your goodness. In the same manner, let them seek and find You. Teach them to fear You, oh Lord, while You keep their tongues from evil and their lips from deceit. Turn my children away from evil, I pray, doing good and pursuing peace instead. Hear and rescue my children, oh God, giving ear to their broken heartedness and saving their crushed spirits. Protect my children, I plead, while You redeem their souls. Be my children’s refuge. “Behold, the eye of the Lord is on those who fear Him, on those who wait for His faithfulness…” Psalm 33:18, (NASV)
Fill my children with songs of joy and praises to You. May they give thanks to You with new songs for You are faithful, right, and true. I pray You will open their eyes to see the fullness of Your love filling the earth and stretching over the heavens to the depths of the seas. Teach them to fear You, oh God, who spoke all things into being and who commands all things to stand firm. Choose them for Your inheritance, I plead, forming their hearts as You watch over them from above. When faced with death and famine, let them place their hope in You. IN the same way, Lord, be their Help and Shield. May they trust in You and be filled with rejoicing as You cover them with Your favor. |
