“The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous runs into it and is safe.” Proverbs 18:10, (NASV)
Oh Lord, help my children put away selfish ambition. Instead, let them put on sound judgement while they keep foolishness, wickedness, and shame far from them. Make wisdom a fountain of bubbling water for them, oh Lord, so foolish lips do not ensnare them nor allow strife or gossip to inhabit their mouths. Be their strong tower, oh God. Let them run to You for safety. In the same manner, may You keep them from pride but mold them to be humble of heart, quick to listen, and slow to answer. Yet sustain their spirit, oh Lord, granting them discernment through knowledge with ears which seek out wisdom. Fill my children’s lips with the harvest of good fruit, I pray, while You allow them to find satisfaction and love in Your wisdom and Your ways. Bless my children with good spouses, I plead. When they bind themselves in marriage, shine Your favor upon them and bless them with every good thing. In turn, may You be a friend closer than a brother to my children throughout all the days of their lives.
