“The fear of the Lord leads to life, so that one may sleep satisfied, untouched by evil.” Proverbs 19:23, (NASV)
Make my children blameless, oh God. Spurn them to walk with the zeal of knowledge without folly or anger against You. I pray You will keep away ‘fair weather’ friends but surround my children with true friendships which remain loyal through sickness, ruin, or calamity. Oh Lord, fill them with wisdom and teach them to cherish understanding so they may prosper and walk in the light of truth without deceit or lies. I pray u will grant them a patient and forgiving heart as You bless them with peace and favor. In their marriage, may they not quarrel. Instead, let them possess peaceful, encouraging tongues which espouse love, wisdom, and prudence. Foster a good work ethic within them, I plead, casting off laziness but putting on listening ears of obedience with kindness to the less fortunate. Oh Lord, bless me with the wisdom to show love to my children by not withholding discipline. In the same way, let them accept advice and instruction so they may not stray from Your words of knowledge. Help them lay down their own plans to submit to Your purposes. Yet give them untroubled rest with contentment in Your fullness of life because they walk in fear of You. As their parent, may they never bring me shame. But keep my children from wickedness, corruption, mockery, and foolishness all their days.
