“Rest in the Lord and wait patiently for Him…” –Psalm 37:7 (NASV)
Let those who are evil not upset my children nor cause them envy. Instead, may my children trust in You and do good, fostering faithfulness wherever they go. Fill them with an insatiable delight of You, oh God, for You give us the desires of our hearts. How I pray my children will dedicate their lives and ways to You so their paths may be illuminated with righteousness and judgment. OH God, show my children how to be still before You and to wait patiently on Your timing. Teach them to refrain from anger, turn from wrath, and cease from worrying, I pray. Instead, mold them to be meek so they will inherit Your land and enjoy peace. Likewise, may You protect them from the sword of the wicked, breaking evil men’s power and upholding the righteous. When disaster strikes, prevent them from withering. When famine assails, bless them with plenty. Take joy in my children, oh God, making firm their steps. Uphold them when they stumble so they do not fall. In the same way, may YOU bless them with generous hearts as You bless their children from generation to generation. I pray You will never forsake them but protect them all their days. Oh Lord, turn their hearts from evil. Instead, help them do good. May You fill their mouths with wise and just words, hiding Your truth within them so they will not stumble. Yet, help them to wait for You and keep Your ways so they may prosper in peace. OH God my God, be my children’s stronghold and deliverer in times of trouble. Be their refuge and their strength.
